WINNIPEG, MB - The Blue Bombers have acquired non-import punter Mike Renaud from the Calgary Stampeders today in exchange for their sixth round pick in the 2010 CFL Draft.
Renaud (6-3, 215, Concordia '06, DOB: May 25, 1983 in Ottawa, ON) has attended training camp in the CFL prior to this season. In 2006, has was in camp with the Montreal Alouettes.
He was a two-time All-Canadian selection while at Concordia and a former college teammate of Blue Bombers snapper Chris Cvetkovic.
In 2008, Renaud played overseas for the Monchengladbach Mavericks of the German Football League.
"We have kept close tabs on several potential candidates that could upgrade our special teams units and Mike gives us the chance to evaluate a legitimate non-import punter while allowing the current placekickers in training camp to concentrate their efforts on field goals and kickoffs," said head coach Mike Kelly.
