Winning Inning Wednesday Yields Another $10,000 Winner
May 25, 2016 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, N.Y.) - A ticket to Wednesday's Long Island Ducks game against the Bridgeport Bluefish came with more than just an exciting ballgame for Andrew Kratzer!
During the Ducks' 15-5 win at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip, N.Y., the Wantagh resident won $10,000 as part of the team's Winning Inning Wednesday promotion.
Andrew earned the prize after Tyler Colvin hit the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the fifth inning for a grand slam to right field off Bluefish starter R.J. Hively. The Ducks had designated a grand slam as the specific occurrence that must take place in the inning for a fan to win.
It was just the second Winning Inning Wednesday of the season for the Ducks, who are showcasing the promotion for the second consecutive season. In 2015, Ducks season ticket holder Ginny Steel of Amityville won the big prize after Long Island scored seven runs in the seventh inning of their 10-9 win over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on June 10.
At each Wednesday home game, the Ducks will designate a certain situation to take place for each inning. If the event occurs in that inning, one lucky fan will win $10,000. To be eligible to win, fans simply need to sign up prior to first pitch at the Long Island Ducks Ticket Kiosk, located on the main concourse behind home plate.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
