Aberdeen Wings News Release
The Odde Ice Center rocked Friday night as the Aberdeen Wings defeated the Bismarck Bobcats 2-1.
The game featured a ticket discount of $1 off admission for Wings fans that brought non-perishable food items to the gate. Over 1,500 Aberdeen Wings fans packed the Odde Ice Center.
In the first period, the Wings would battle back and forth with the Bobcats. Both teams would share penalties around the 5:00 mark and again late in the 1st period. In the second period, at the 3:56 mark the Wings would get on the board as #11 TJ Roo (F-Champlain Park, MN) would find the back of the net with an assist from #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI). The Wings would take the 1-0 lead into the intermission. In the third period, the Wings would battle again putting 6 shots on goal in the first two minutes of the final period. At the 12:46 mark, the Bismarck Bobcats would answer with a goal. With just over two minutes left, #11 TJ Roo would strike again with his second goal of the game with an assist from #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA). The Wings would battle down to the final seconds, but would come away with the win 2-1.
