
Wings Use Special Teams in 4-1 Win Friday

Your Aberdeen Wings used 2 power play goals, a shorthanded goal and finally an empty net goal to finish off the Janesville Jets improving their record to 2-1-0. Mitch Machlitt got things going midway through the 1st period power play goal with assists going to Pitters and Sicoly. Later in the 1st Brad Belisle got his 1st goal of the season, once again on the power play this time Weigel assisted. The Wings took the 2-0 win into the 1st intermission. Just 2:17 into the 2ns period Nic Sicoly got loose and gave the Wings a 3-0 advantage with a shorthanded goal. Rocco assisted Sicoly. Janesville would get on the board late in the 3rd period. Riley Murphy would respond with an empty net goal to finish off the Jets 4-1. Strada assisted on the Murphy goal. Matt Vernon was once again fantastic in net stopping 29 of the 30 shots he faced. Vernon is 2-0 on the young season and has stopped 53 of the 54 shots he has faced thus far.
