After earning their first franchise win Wednesday night vs. Springfield, the Maryland Black Bears fell 7-4 to Bismarck Thursday evening.

Menotti opened up the scoring halfway through the first period on an assist from Connor Pooley to give the Bears an early 1-0 lead. The Bobcats answered back with two goals before the first period ended. In the second period, Menotti netted his second goal of the night to tie the game at 2-2.
In the third period, Bismarck tallied three goals early to take a 5-2 lead. Black Bears forward Karim Del Ponte was able to come back mid-period with a goal on the powerplay assisted by Matteo Menotti to cut the lead to two. Bismarck quickly responded with two quick strikes, both on the powerplay, to widen their lead. Connor Pooley scored the Bears' fourth goal of the night with seconds to go in the third period but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats hung on to a 7-4 lead to seal the victory.
