BLAINE, Minn. - The Minot Minotauros recorded a 4-0 win over the Corpus Christi IceRays Friday morning at the 2018 NAHL Showcase at Schwan Super Rink. Reid Waszczenko stopped all 30 shots faced to record a shutout in his NAHL regular season debut for the Minotauros (2-1-0, 4 pts.).
Ethan Peterson made 26 saves for the IceRays (1-4-0, 2 pts.).
Minot's Keenan Lund opened the scoring with a stick-side rebound just 16 seconds into the game.
Taylor Lantz doubled the lead for the Minotauros with a power play goal over the glove at 11:04 of the second period. Corpus Christi nearly doubled Minot in second-period shots (15-8) but failed to light the lamp.
In the third period, the Minotauros' top line of Fritz Belisle, Lantz and Lund combined for their third goal of the day when Belisle scored at 11:02. Justin Kelly then added a shorthanded, empty-net goal with 4:12 remaining to secure the four-goal win.
Shots in the game were tied at 30 each.
