
Wings Score Late, But Lose 5-4

The Aberdeen Wings were at home Friday night taking on the Bismarck Bobcats in North American Hockey League action inside the Odde Ice Center. The Wings would lose their 5th straight with a 5-4 loss to the Bobcats.
Midway through the 1st period, the Bobcats would find the net at the 9:19 mark with a goal from Tanner Salsberry. Minutes later, the Bobcats would take a 2-0 lead with a goal from Evan Giesler. Later in the period, the Wings on the power play would get a goal from #11 Victor Ostling (F-Stockholm, Sweden) with assists to #21 Bjorn Sigurdarson (F-Reykjavik, Iceland) and #7 Zac Goodrich (D-White Lake, MI). The Bobcats, unhappy about the power play goal, would score at the 18:03 mark thanks to Nick Wallace. The Bobcats would go into the locker room leading 3-1.
The entire second period would be scoreless, but for the Wings, they would control so much momentum and shot opportunities that the Bobcats would call a timeout to regroup. The Wings however would give up two goals to start the third period. A power play goal for the Bobcats' Harrison Aide and a one-timer from Jared Turcotte would put the Wings down 5-1.
At the 17:17 mark, the Wings would get a battle goal from #12 Austin Heakins (F-Mars, PA) with an assist to #8 Drew Doyon (F-Indianapolis, IN). A minute later, the Wings would score again from #25 Tucker DeYoung (F-Lake Bluff, IL) and assist to #14 Collin Hughes (F-Lino Lakes, MN). With momentum, and the energy from 1,345 Wings fans in attendance, the Wings would score again with a goal from #13 Michael Soucier (F-Caledon, Ontario) and assist to #16 Kyle Haak (F-Okemos, MI). That would make the score 5-4 after the Wings scored three unanswered goals. With seconds remaining in the game, the Wings would come up short in getting another.
