
Ice Miners Offense Sputters in 3-0 Loss to Janesville

JANESVILLE, WI - Despite trailing only 1-0 through two periods of play, the Keystone Ice Miners were outshot 14-4 in the 3rd period and fell 3-0 to the first place Janesville Jets on Friday night in Wisconsin.
Zach Lavalle scored only goal of first two periods when he deflected in Jeff Alderfer's point shot past Alex Blankenburg with only 12 seconds remaining in the first. Alderfer and Evan Feno picked up assists.
The score remained 1-0 into the third period when Adam Winborg extended the Janesville lead with his 13th goal of the season at 5:21, banking in a Grant Hutton rebound. Mitch Fossier also added an assist. Fossier would score a goal of his own just over three minutes later at 8:26, set up by Adam Roeder and Nils Nygaard. Matt Jurusik made 22 saves for his first shutout of the season, and 13th win. Blankenburg made 26 saves in the loss.
Janesville moved within two points of the top spot in the NAHL with 41 points and kept pace with Soo, who defeated Michigan in overtime. The Ice Miners and Jets play again Saturday night at 8:00 ET / 7:00 CT. The game will be broadcast on FASTHockey.com, with the away feed carrying to the Ice Miners broadcast network.
