POST GAME QUOTES
HEAD COACH LATRICIA TRAMMEL
On her thoughts on today's game...
"You never want to make an excuse, ever, and that's not even in my nature, but we were a little tired I'm not going to lie. And it's just us learning how to handle it, that's all I can say. It's uncharacteristic for us to shoot that percentage from the free throw line, lacking energy on the defensive end. I thought there was moments of brilliance, but one thing I know about this team they're not happy, and they will make a statement on Sunday."
On the locker room energy after tonight's game...
"It was good. I mean they're tired. We had to talk it through. But this team has the championship mentality, and they're smart enough because they're professional players to know what we didn't do and what we need and to correct on Sunday."
On what the focus was in the locker room post-game...
"Film a little bit and just talked it through. It's a fast turnaround because tomorrow we have our season ticket holder event in the morning during our practice, so I apologize for not coming quicker. We had to discuss some things before tomorrow and we're expecting 700 people who have RSVP'd which is incredible."
On Natasha Howard's Triple Double...
"Oh yeah, so proud of her. She came ready for sure and had a lot of energy. Sometimes I think instead of the Big 3 we also have the Big 4 with Teaira [McCowan], but for her to get that for her first time with her tenure in this league, is pretty amazing and it's really special."
On the bench's impactful effort in today's game...
"I think so too, thanks for saying that. We always talk about how it's a team effort. We miss K [Awak Kuier] and her length, and just that rotation of course. But KB [Kalani Brown], Veronica [Burton], O [Odyssey Sims], and Maddy [Siegrist] played some valuable minutes and they really did a nice job. I heard other coaches talking about treating every game like a playoff game, well I've never heard of a team who can't rely on their bench during the playoffs, and sometimes they're the difference makers. So, to see our bench come on as strong as they do, it's really exciting."
On Maddy Siegrist's energy in the locker room...
"She's always good. As my mom would say, "She's a Tough Ole Poop."
On Diamond Deshields status...
"It will be a while, unfortunately, I don't even think she's at the point in weeks terms that we would check again. She's so consistent with her PT, but I can't give you the right answer."
