
Windy City Comes Back to Beat Washington 9-6

Washington, Pa - The Windy City Thunderbolts edged out the Washington Wild Things 9-6 in game one of a three-game series at CONSOL Energy Park Friday night. Washington led the game through seven innings, but Windy City chipped away and struck for three runs to capture the lead in the eighth.
Washington's runs came on RBI from David Popkins, Matt Ford, and Andrew Heck as well as a Maxx Garrett solo shot over the centerfield wall.
Windy City's Max White drove in four runs with two home runs to catapult his team into the lead.
Starting pitcher Matt Fraudin pitched seven strong innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out two. Steve Messner took the loss for Washington giving up three runs on three hits in two thirds of an inning.
The Wild Things and Thunderbolts meet for game two of the three-game series Saturday when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The first 1000 fans will receive a Travel Tumbler courtesy of Mylan. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park box office.
