Wichita Wind Surge News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Wind Surge had six different batters that hit doubles, three batters that hit home runs and every batter had a hit and scored tonight in an impressive hitting display. Wichita defeated NW Arkansas 15-8 in the first of six games played at home for the Wind Surge.
The wind was pushing steadily out of the south and 100 degrees plus temperatures helped the balls soar over the wall for both teams.
The lead-off batter for NW Arkansas, Tyler Tolbert, hit a solo home run in the top of the first.
The Surge had their own answer in the bottom of the first in the form of shortstop Brooks Lee. He hit his sixth home run of the season on a solo shot over the right field wall. Next batter, Yunior Severino, wanted in on the action and he crushed a ball 414 feet for his first home run and back-to-back home runs for Wichita.

The bottom of the fifth was the biggest inning for the Surge with eight runs added. The inning saw Alex Isola, Will Holland and Lee hit doubles and then Severino hit his second home run on a fly ball over the left field wall that was a three-run shot.
The Naturals added a pair of homers in the top of the sixth but it was not enough to catch up to Wichita and their huge lead.
