Wichita Wind Surge News Release

WICHITA, Kansas - The Wichita Wind Surge and ESPN Wichita (KKGQ 92.3 FM) have extended their broadcast agreement through the 2028 baseball season. The partnership, which began in 2022, provides ESPN Wichita with the exclusive rights to broadcast Wind Surge home and road games. ESPN Wichita will continue to have a physical presence at Equity Bank Park year-round.

"We are very excited to continue our unique partnership with ESPN Wichita. Having a radio station housed inside the ballpark is a true asset," commented Wind Surge General Manager Matt Hamilton. "The stations coverage in Kansas gives our fanbase the ability to listen from far and wide."

ESPN Wichita 92.3 will broadcast four hours of live coverage, including The Shane Dennis Show and The Pulse with Pat Strathman most weekdays from the on-air studio at the ballpark facing McLean Boulevard and the Arkansas River.

"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Wichita Wind Surge. ESPN Wichita's local presence is tremendous as the home for the Surge, Wichita Open, high school sports, Kansas Jayhawks and more" said ESPN Wichita Manager Chad Boeger. "We are excited to bring our listeners the best, most comprehensive coverage of the Wichita Wind Surge on the top sports station in Wichita, ESPN 92.3, locally owned and affiliated with the preeminent sports radio station in the Midwest, Sports Radio 810 WHB in Kansas City."

The Wind Surge broadcasts will be led by veteran broadcaster Tim Grubbs, who opens his sixth season with the Wind Surge and 31st season broadcasting Minor League Baseball. Andrew Neville returns for his second full season with the Surge and will provide play by play for select home and road games in addition to his marketing role with the team. Neville was an intern for part of the 2024 season and all of the 2025 season. The Atlanta, Georgia, native was a 2024 graduate of Northwestern University and was recently hired full time as Marketing Coordinator.

The Surge open the 2026 season at Equity Bank Park today vs the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
