Frederick Keys News Release

The Keys six-game winning streak came to a halt as Salem plated four runs in the fifth inning and the Keys could not climb back. Frederick ended its eight-game road trip with a 5-3 loss Wednesday night.

Frederick was getting a strong start from LHP Nathan Moreau who had allowed just one hit through four innings. Moreau had a bumpy ride in the fifth though allowing four runs on four hits as the Red Sox sent eight men to the plate in the inning.

The Keys had opportunities, three times leaving multiple runners on-base. After leaving runners at second and third in the first inning the Keys left the bases loaded in the third inning. Frederick's last gasp came in the eighth with a run home, two runners on and two out. In came Salem reliever Will Latimer who enticed a fly ball out off of the bat of RF Jacob Julius and the Keys rally was thwarted.

Frederick finished the year with an 8-2 record in Salem and the Keys longest winning streak against Salem in franchise history came to an end at ten games.

Frederick returns home for a week-long homestand with a Tote Bag giveaway to the first 1,000 fans on Friday, July 22nd. It is Going Green Night presented by the Frederick Department of Solid Waste Management.
