Wimbush Earns IFL Honors

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers running back Antonio Wimbush was named the Indoor Football League's Offensive Player of the Week in Week 18.
Wimbush (5-9, 205) earned IFL Offensive Player of the Week honors after an outstanding run game against the Tucson Sugar Skulls in week 18. Wimbush led the Barnstormers to a 61-48 victory after finishing the night with 90 yards on 16 rushes for an average of 5.6 yards per run and a whopping seven touchdowns to his name.
The Indoor Football League awarded DB Bill Atkins of the Northern Arizona Wranglers as Defensive Player of the Week while RB Benjamin Jones of the Tucson Sugar Skulls was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wimbush and the Iowa Barnstormers will travel to face the Quad City Steamwheelers in the final regular season game of the year as both teams vie for a spot in the playoffs. The win and get in matchup will take place Friday, July 15 at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline, IL. Kickoff is at 7:05PM. Fans can tune in on YouTube.
