Willick and Smith Rewarded for School Performance

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have announced that 18-year-old forward Dylan Willick and 17-year-old forward Colin Smith have both won academic awards for their performance in the first term of the school year.

Willick, who is from Prince George, BC, is currently completing English 110 at Thompson River University. The hard working Willick has put up 5 goals, 4 assists for 9 points in 24 games this season.

Smith, who is in his 2nd season with the Blazers, is enrolled full-time at Valleyview Secondary school currently completing Chemistry 12, English 12, Foods and Nutrition 11 and Peer Helping 12. The native of Edmonton, AB has 4 goals, 9 assists and 13 points this season.

"Dylan and Colin have both worked hard to earn this reward," said Education Consultant, Vic Bifano. "We are pleased with their performance and are encouraged by the work ethic of all the students on the hockey club."

Both players will be awarded $100 from the Kamloops Blazers Sports Society Legacy Fund in a special presentation prior to Saturday night's game when the Kamloops Blazers host the Prince George Cougars. The Blazers will also host the Spokane Chiefs tomorrow night at the Interior Savings Centre. Game times are 7pm and tickets can be purchased at the ISC Box Office or by phone at 250-828-3339.
