Dayton, OH - RHP Robert Manuel who was acquired by the Cincinnati Reds from the New York Mets in exchange for LHP Dave Williams and cash considerations, has been assigned to the Dayton Dragons and will join the team on its current road series at Coveleski Stadium vs. the South Bend Silver Hawks. Manuel was signed by the Mets as a non-drafted free agent prior to the 2005 season out of Sam Houston State University and split time between the GCL Mets (R) and the Brooklyn Cyclones (A). The 6'3" 190 pound right hander posted an 8-1 record with a 2.06 ERA with the GCL Mets in 12 games and was 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA with Brooklyn in two appearances. Manuel was tied for first in the GCL with eight wins, was second in ERA at 2.06 and was fourth in strikeouts with 49.

To make room for Robert Manuel on the Dragons roster, the Reds have re-assigned RHP Kyle Huddy to extended spring training. Huddy took the loss for the Dragons in his last appearance in 1.0 innings worth of work against the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays. Huddy had appeared sparsely for the Dragons pitching in seven games since joining the club. The non-drafted free agent out of Loyola Marymount was 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA in 11.0 innings of baseball with the Dragons. The Dragons roster is at the maximum level of 25 players.
