
All-Star festivities come to John O'Donnell

The Swing of the Quad Cities have announced that John O'Donnell Stadium will be the home of the 2006 Midwest League All-Star Game. The Game will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, but festivities are set to begin on Monday, June 19.
All-Star Activities will begin on Monday with a luncheon, sponsored by Alcoa, to salute the Quad Cities Sports Commission for 10 years of contribution to the advancement of athletics in the Quad Cities. A limited number of tickets will be available to the general public.
Tuesday's events will include the Principal Financial Family Fun Fest which will be set up outside, near the southwest corner of the ballpark. Admission to the Family Fun Fest is free and will open at 4:00 p.m.
Players from around the Midwest League will be available for autographs on the stadium's concourse at 4:30 p.m. and the Controlling the Game Home Run Derby is set to take place at 5:30 p.m.
The first pitch of the 2006 Midwest League All-Star Game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m and the game will feature Rally the mascot. The All-Star Game and related activities are sponsored by KWQC, Mediacom, Alcoa, the Quad City Times, Quad City Radio Group, HOK Sport, John Deere, Controlling the Game, Iowa American Water Compnay, and the Dispatch/Argus/Leader. The game will also be broadcast live over the Mediacom Connections Channel (Channel 22 in Iowa and 50 in Illinois).

NEXT HOMESTAND: After an eight-game road trip, the Swing will return to John O'Donnell Stadium on June 6 for another four-game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
UPCOMING PROMOTIONS: Your favorite characters from the Rugrats will be at John O'Donnell Stadium on May 26 thanks to Mediacom, Baseball America, and Star 93.5. The busy homestand will conclude with a baseball cap (Mountain Dew, 97 Rock, Fox-18) giveaway on May 27 and another Mix 96 Family Fun Day on May 28 - also Scott County YMCA's day at the ballpark with post-game fireworks sponsored in part by KWQC/KUUL/WOC.
