July 9, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - Following a strong outing in a 36-29 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday, Alouettes running back William Stanback was named one of the CFL's top performers of the week on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old Hempstead, NY native ran for 203 yards on 22 carries crossing the goal line on three occasions, becoming the first Alouette to run for over 200 yards since Mike Pringle in 1998. Stanback also caught a 46-yard-pass during that busy evening. The home opener win also marked Head Coach Khari Jones' first career win.
In three games so far this season Stanback collected 357 yards on 44 rushes while adding four touchdowns. He is the CFL's rushing yards and rushing touchdowns leader.
Stanback was named CFL's players of the week for the first time in November 2018, in the last week of the regular season.
