Weekly Rewind

Wednesday, Dec. 9 - PENGUINS 6 vs. Syracuse 2

The Penguins scored early and often to get out to a 3-0 lead halfway through the first frame. Dominik Simon scored twice in the third period to put the game out of reach for the Crunch. Matt Murray made 30 saves in his 11th win of the year.

Friday, Dec. 11 - PENGUINS 4 at Lehigh Valley 0

Scott Wilson scored twice on the power play as Simon scored two goals in back-to-back games to down the Phantoms. Murray earned his fourth shutout of the year and 16th of his career, one shy of tying the Pens' franchise record.

Saturday, Dec. 12 - PENGUINS 4 vs. Albany 0

The Penguins earned their second-straight 4-0 win in their first game with Jay Leach behind the bench after Mike Sullivan was promoted to Pittsburgh's head coaching position. Tristan Jarry made 22 saves for his first pro shutout, and Simon had two assists on two Kevin Porter goals.

The Week Ahead

Wednesday, Dec. 16 - PENGUINS at Lehigh Valley

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton quickly returns to PPL Center after their shutout victory over the Phantoms last weekend. The Pens have the edge in the season series, 2-1-0-0.

Friday, Dec. 18 - PENGUINS vs. Toronto

A highly anticipated match-up finally arrives as the top two teams in the AHL face-off for the first time. The Penguins and Marlies are third and first in the league in goals for per game, and third and fourth in goals against per game, respectively.

Saturday, Dec. 19 - PENGUINS at Syracuse

After a bruising battle in their first game this season, the two clubs will play on Syracuse's home ice for this match-up. The Penguins are 10-7-1-0 over the last five seasons in Syracuse.

- The Penguins' 19-5-0-0 record is the best in the AHL through 10 weeks of regular season play.

- Dominik Simon's six points in three games put him in a tie with Conor Shear for the team scoring lead (25).

- Matt Murray and Tristan Jarry's shutouts were the first time in team history that two different goalies earned shutouts in back-to-back games.

- Wednesday night's game was Kevin Porter's 500th career game as a pro.

- Friday night's contest in Allentown marked Tom Kostopoulos' 500th career game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
