Milwaukee Admirals News Release

[TORONTO, Canada] -- SportsLogos.Net, the premier destination for sports logo and uniform news, history and discussion on the Internet, has announced their annual "Sports Logos of the Year Award" winners for 2015. The awards are presented to the best new sports logo designs in three different categories as voted on by the visitors to www.sportslogos.net

The Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League were given the top prize as "Best New Primary Team Logo". The Admirals new look, designed by Dan Simon of Studio Simon, was unveiled this past July to immediate praise from both experts and fans alike. The bold new design featuring a skull wearing the cap of an admiral gave this "minor league" team a true "major league" identity.

Runner-up awards went to the NCAA's Eastern Illinois Panthers and the West Virginia Black Bears of the New York-Penn League.

Other teams to crack the top 20 new primary sports logos of the year include the Howard Bison, Atlanta Hawks, Connecticut Whale, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Daytona Tortugas, and Columbus Crew.

The AHL's Utica Comets were awarded "Best New Secondary Team Logo" prize for their new alternate jersey "U" logo, the Comets new look was designed by in-house designer Eric Kowiatek. The Comets new logo finished slightly ahead of the Midwest League's South Bend Cubs and NCAA's UNC-Wilmington Seahawks.

Top league logo was awarded to the 2015 NHL Draft held in South Florida.
