Wildcats Fall to Screaming Eagles

Moncton, NB - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles spoiled the party Friday night at the Moncton Coliseum as the defeated the Wildcats by a score of 3-1 in front of 4884.

The first period seen some sloppy but yet exciting play on thepart of both teams which seen both teams head to the dressing room scoreless after 1 period of play. shots after the opening period were 10-10. Both teams having opportunities to put their teams up but the goaltenders Roman Will and AlexandreVeronneau were solid infront of their respective cages.

In the second period Kyle Ferrell would score his first goal in the QMJHL on a mad goal mouth scramble Ferrell finds the back of the net and it was 1-0 for the Screaming Eagles. It would remain that way after 40 minutes. shots in the second were 17-13 for Cape Breton.

The Wildcats would finally solve Alexandre Verreneau in the 3rd period as a beautiful tic-tac-toe play capped off by Alex Saulnier with his 3rd of the season. Delisle-Houde and Allain Saulnier collecting the assists. Jonathan Brunelle would put the Screaming Eagles back up by a goal when takes advantage of a missed call Corey MacIntosh gets the shot off Will makes the initial save and Brunelle is there to find the open net. Loic Leduc also picks up and assist. 2-1 Cape Breton. Then with 5:59 remaining Corey MacIntosh would seal the deal with a shorthanded marker to but the Creaming Eagles up by a pair by a 3-1 mark.

Final shots on goal were 21-21. On the Power play Moncton was 0-5 while Cape Breton was 0-4.

Next for the Wildcats is a clash with provincial rivals the Acadie-Bathurst Titan game time is 7;00 PM on Tuesday.

Annual Cats Cup Ball Hockey Tournament and Meet the team BBQ takes place Saturday. The Meet the team BBQ goes from noon to 1:30.
