Moncton Wildcats News Release
MONCTON NB - The Moncton Wildcats have acquired defenceman Alexandre Coulombe from the Shawinigan Cataractes for an eighth round draft pick in the 2016 QMJHL Entry Draft.
The 20 year-old defenceman played 52 games last season with the Cataractes, and has been in the line-up for five of their games in the 2015-2016 season after recently returning from injury. "With the injury to Jake Sweeney, and the uncertainty of day to day junior hockey, we are pleased to be able to add Alex to the line-up. He is a strong defensive defender that will be a great asset in this very tough three week stretch before Christmas, said Director of Hockey Ops Roger Shannon. Once Jacob Sweeney returns we will have four 20 year-olds to decide on."
Alexandre will join the line-up tonight in Shawinigan for the team's final game of this Quebec road trip.
