Screaming Eagles Acquire Joly from Oceanic

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced today that they have acquired 20-year-old (1995-05-05) right winger Michael Joly from the Rimouski Oceanic in exchange for three draft picks. The Oceanic will receive Cape Breton's second round pick in 2016, along with Cape Breton's first and second round pick in 2017.

Joly, 5-foot-11, 165-pound winger from Gatineau, Quebec, has played his entire junior career with the Oceanic recording 95 goals, 78 assists, in 180 regular season games, while adding 33 points in 36 career playoff games for a total of 206 career points in 216 career games played. In 21 games played this season, Joly has 14 goals and 11 assists.

Last year, Joly was a key member for the 2015 President Cup Champions Oceanic, scoring the overtime winner in Game 7 of the President Cup finals against the Québec Remparts while earning his team a ticket into the 2015 CHL Master Card Memorial Cup.

The Screaming Eagles now have all three of their overage roster spots filled with goaltender Alexandre Belanger, defensemen Alexandre Gosselin, with forward Michael Joly now occupying the third and final spot.

Joly is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Screaming Eagles host the Quebec Remparts at Centre 200 and he will be wearing number 25.
