MIDLAND, MI - Delvis Morales singled with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to ignite a go-ahead rally for the Loons that ended with Morales scoring the game-winning run on a wild pitch to give Great Lakes a 5-4 win over the Dayton Dragons Thursday night.

With the score tied 4-4 and one out, Morales singled against reliever Ryan Kemp. James Baldwin followed with a hit-and-run single to put runners at the corners. Dayton opted to intentionally walk Jesus Arredondo and face Pedro Guerrero instead. Guerrero popped up to third for the second out. Then with O'Koyea Dickson at the plate, Kemp uncorked a pitch well that bounced in the left-handed batters box to score Morales with the winning run.

The Loons tied the score in the eighth on a two-out RBI single by Scott Schebler. Just prior to that Guerrero was thrown out trying to score from first on a double by Dickson.

Angelo Songco drove home the Loons' first two runs. The first came in the first on a solo home run. Later in the third, Songco drove in Arredondo on a double.

The Loons led 3-1 in the seventh when the Dragons scored three times to take the lead.

Ryan O'Sullivan recorded his fourth straight quality start, allowing three earned runs in six innings. Yimi Garcia (4-1) was credited with the win with a perfect top of the ninth. Kemp (1-1) took the loss.

Songco finished the game with three hits. Dickson, Schebler and Baldwin had two hits each.

The Loons (32-35) take two of three from the Dragons and begin a three-game homestand against the first-place Lansing Lugnuts (46-20) Friday night at 7:05pm. It is the final homestand of the first half.

Righty Arismendy Ozoria (3-3, 4.45 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Loons against righty Marcus Walden (5-1, 2.48). Beloved cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants will be appearing at the Dow Diamond and the first 5,000 fans will receive a SpongeBob-themed poster, courtesy of F.P. Horak.
