Washington Wild Things News Release

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, couldn't pull off a win in the first game of a three-game series on Friday night against the Normal CornBelters, falling 14-2.

From the start, things looked against Washington's favor with the Normal's Daniel Cox belting a two-run homerun in the first inning. The CornBelters would add two more home runs on the night, with blasts by Colin Moro and Jeff Dunbar.

Dunbar went 2-for-3, with three doubles and two RBIs on top of his homer. Alvaro Ramirez, Frank Martinez, Steven Alexander and Tyler Keeble also had runs that contributed to the CornBelters' big win against the Wild Things.

The Wild Things also struggled offensively with just two runs in the game. Eric Stephens singled to drive in Kevyn Feiner in the third to put the home team on the board. Scott Lawson then homered in the bottom of the seventh inning to bring the final score to 4-2.

Hall pitched 3.2 innings, allowing ten runs and two walks before being replaced by Matt Barnes who pitched 3.1 innings and gave up four runs and two walks during the game.
