Washington, PA– Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, took advantage of three Kalamazoo errors and collected 13 hits on their way to a 9-0 victory over Kalamazoo Tuesday night at Falconi Field.

Washington posted four runs off of three hits in the bottom of the third inning and tacked another run on in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. Chad Kinyon's two-run double pushed the lead to 7-0 in the seventh, and the Wild Things added two more in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

Washington's Jory Coughenour made his first start since June 10. He pitched two scoreless innings then gave way to Doug Lantz (2-0), who earned the victory for pitching three shutout innings. Kyle Augsburger pitched the final two innings for Washington. Kalamazoo's Greg Wiltshire shouldered the loss after allowing five unearned runs in six innings.

Jack Headley moved his hitting streak two 13 games with three hits. He also scored three times. Kinyon drove in three runs on two doubles and a single.

The victory gives the Wild Things (34-18) a one game lead over Evansville and a 3 ½ game lead over Kalamazoo (32-23) in the Eastern Division standings.
