Roosters Say - Free Martha
July 20, 2004 - Frontier League (FL)
Richmond Roosters News Release
Richmond, IN --- The Roosters say, Free Martha!
As in Martha Stewart, of course.
Stewart, who was sentenced to five months in a Connecticut prison today, for lying under oath about stock exchanges, has become a focal point for the Richmond Roosters, a member of the Frontier League.
"It was such a white lie," said Roosters' VP/General Manager Deanna Beaman. "And Martha is all about choosing good colors anyway. We want to show our support for her, as much as we can."
So Beaman, and her Roosters will admit all women - and men - with the name Martha Stewart to Don Mc Bride Stadium for free for the remainder of the 2004 season. And just in case your name isn't Martha Stewart, bring in a white swatch of cloth in a Monday through Thursday game and we will give you one free admission for every one you purchase, but the swatch has to be tastefully done."
"Perhaps we should also admit all those who have told a little white lie to federal investigators or the I.R.S. as well." Beaman said. "It would probably give us a large captive audience."
