Wild Things Beat Grizzlies

Washington, PA— The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Saving Bank, defeated the Gateway Grizzlies 8-2 in front of the 22nd consecutive sellout crowd of 3,604 at Falconi Field Monday evening.

Dave Bradley pitched a four-hit complete game, and Josh Loggins had three hits and three RBI to lead the Wild Things. Bradley, who retired 20 of the last 24 batters he faced and struck out eight Grizlzlies' hitters, is now 8-5 on the season. Scott Patterson took the loss and dropped to 7-2.

The Grizzlies took a short lived lead in the second inning. Brian Feuss doubled home Oscar Vargas and Jimmy Reiter.

The Wild Things got on the scoreboard in the second inning when Jay Coakley hit an opposite field solo homerun on the first pitch of the second inning. Josh Loggins tied the game in the third inning with an RBI single. John Cahill's RBI walk gave Washington a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning. Loggins got his second RBI of the game in the seventh inning when he doubled home Jon Cahill. Josh Bollig followed with an RBI double to score Cahill. Washington scored three insurance runs in the eighth inning. Doug Garcia tripled and scored on a fielder's choice groundout by Mike Cunningham. Cunningham then stole second base and scored on a single by Blake Woods. Loggins then followed with a two out triple to score Woods and put the game away.

The Wild Things have won eight of their last 11 games. The homestand will conclude Tuesday evening when the first 1,500 people will receive Jared Howton Mini Bobble Head Dolls. Nick Aiello and Joe Dooley are the probable starters for the Wild Things and Grizzlies.
