Rockford, IL-The Rockford RiverHawks defeated the Chillicothe Paints 4-1 on a cool night at Marinelli Field. The Rockford pitching staff shut down the Paint offense all game. Marc Dulkowski (2-2) tossed 5.2 solid innings and the bullpen came in and had another outstanding performance. Dulkowski allowed only one run on six hits and struck out four. The RiverHawks scored three runs in the first and plated another run in the sixth. Kiley Vaughn and Doug Schutt each went 2-for-4 with a RBI. Josh Latimer picked up his fifth save on the season. The RiverHawks are now only 3 games back in the Western Division.
Rockford and Chillicothe will finish their short two game series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. It will be Replica Jersey giveaway thanks to Fisher Nuts, 97 ZOK, and WTVO (first 1,000 fans-12 and under). On Wednesday the River City Rascals will come to town. There are nine chances left this season to go see your RiverHawks at Marinelli Field, so call for tickets now, at 964-BALL.
