Wild Things Back at Consol Energy Park August 3-8

Washington, Pa. - The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Financial, will host another six game homestand at CONSOL Energy Park beginning on Tuesday, August 3. The Wild Things will play a three-game series with the Kalamazoo Kings followed by a series with the Traverse City Beach Bums.

The homestand will feature great promotions all week long. On Tuesday, August 3, and Wednesday, August 4, all kids 12 and under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, soft drink and chips as they enter the gates. Tuesday's Kids Eat Free is sponsored by ServiceLink, and Wednesday's is presented by Chesapeake Energy. Also on Wednesday, members of the Silver Sluggers presented by Mylan Labs can stroll the bases after the game.

On Thursday, August 5, the Wild Things will turn back to the clock to the 1930s, when the Red Birds and Generals played baseball in Washington, Pa. Players will wear special vintage-style jerseys that fans can bid on in a silent auction during the game. It's also Dollar Thirst-day, with $1.00 beers and soft drinks all night long. Fans can also register for the Xtreme Car & Truck Accessories Hit for the Cycle at the game for a chance to win an ATV.

Friday night, August 6, the Wild Things will begin a three-game series with Traverse City. Fans can stick around after the game for a fireworks celebration by Zambelli Fireworks. Plus, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Wild Things t-shirt courtesy of Northwood Realty.

The first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates on Saturday, August 7, will receive a Wild Things back-to-school binder courtesy of CONSOL Energy. Boy Scout and Cub Scouts can also participate in a Scout sleepover that evening. For information on the sleepover, call the box office at 866-456-WILD.

The Wild Things close out the homestand on Sunday, August 8, with Bark in the Park presented by Purina Dog Chow. Fans can bring their dogs to the game by purchasing a $6 general admission human ticket and a $2 dog ticket. Dogs and their owners can participate in a pre-game parade and costume contest for a chance to throw out the first pitch. To purchase Bark in the Park tickets, owners must bring a copy of the dog's vaccination records to the box office. Sunday will also be Family Fun Day. All kids 12 and under can run the bases after the game.

Sunday's game starts at 6:35 p.m. and the Tuesday through Friday games begin at 7:05 p.m. Gates open one hour before game time.
