WICHITA, KS --- The Wichita Thunder scored six power play goals in an 8-3 win over the Memphis RiverKings Friday night at the Kansas Coliseum. The loss snapped the RiverKings' four game winning streak. The RiverKings return home to host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs tomorrow night at 7:05.
After the RiverKings tied the score at three with eight minutes left in the second period, the Thunder scored five unanswered to up their record to 9-8-2. The RiverKings lost in regulation for just the fourth time season and are now 12-4-2.
Jason Sessa, Derek Campbell and Darrell Stoddard scored goals for Memphis, who fell for the first time on enemy ice in five games. Sessa's goal was his team leading 10th of the season. For Campbell, it was his fifth while it was Stoddard's sixth.
For Wichita, Scott Rozendal had a hat trick with Daniel Tetrault also adding a pair of goals. Jason Duda assisted on five of the eight Thunder goals.
