Bucks Rally For 3-2 Win Over Austin

LAREDO, Texas - The defending CHL President's Cup Champion Laredo Bucks rallied for a 3-2 win over the Austin Ice Bats in front of 5,017 fans at the LEC on Friday. The Bucks picked up their third straight win, all three have been come from behind victories, as they improved to 12-6-2 with a Southern Conference and Southeast Division best 26 points. Laredo is in Rio Grande Valley on Saturday, then hosts the Killer Bees on Sunday at the LEC at 4 p.m. It's the Whataburger Christmas kickoff with the first 2,000 fans getting Bucks Santa hats courtesy of Whataburger. Fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas (a $100 value) for $48. The Bucks are offering a family four pack of season tickets for the 2006-07 CHL regular season, which works out to just over $7 a seat per game and is a 48 % savings off walkup prices. The Bucks lit the lamp just 17 seconds into the first period. Forward Leo Thomas cut down the left wing to the front of the net and lost the puck, but forward Jeff Bes was there to pop it home for his third of the season and a 1-0 Laredo lead.

The Ice Bats tied the game in the second period as forward Henry Kuster scored on a wrist shot from just inside the right circle at 6:38.

Austin took a 2-1 lead just 61 seconds into the third when forward Mike Tucciarone scored on a spin around wrist shot from the slot. The Bucks tied it when defenseman Justin Togiai scored his first as a pro on a wild goalmouth scramble at 3:36. Later in the third defenseman Serge Dube teed up a shot from the left point that went thru a screen in front and gave the Bucks a 3-2 lead at 13:28. It was the seventh of the season for Dube and turned out to be the game winner. FINAL SCORE Laredo 3, Austin 2.

Eric Marvin stopped 26 of 28 shots and improved to 7-3-2. Kevin Couture allowed three goals on 33 shots and fell to 3-4-0. The Bucks went 0-4 on the power play while Austin was 0-5. Laredo out shot the Ice Bats 33-28.

2006-07 BUCKS SINGLE GAME TICKETS ON SALE
