WHL Announces 2021 Draft Lottery Results

Edmonton, AB - The Western Hockey League conducted its Draft Lottery ahead of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft slated for December 9, 2021 today.

The Edmonton Oil Kings hold two first-round picks for the upcoming draft, their own, as well as the Kelowna Rockets' following the December 14, 2019 trade that sent defenceman Conner McDonald to the Rockets in exchange for their 2021 first round pick and 2023 third round pick.

Following today's Draft Lottery results, the Oil Kings will hold the 13th overall selection (via Kelowna) and the 19th overall selection in the first round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

The Oil Kings won phase two of the Draft Lottery which was to determine where each of the 2020-21 WHL Division winners would select between picks 19-22.
