Giants to Select 11th Overall in 2021 WHL Prospects Draft

Vancouver, B.C. - For the first time in franchise history, the Vancouver Giants are scheduled to make the 11th overall pick in Round 1 of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. The G-Men will then have the 12th pick in all additional rounds. The 2021 WHL Prospects Draft lottery results were announced earlier this morning from the WHL head office in Calgary.

Recent first-round draft picks from the Giants include:

Mazden Leslie - 2020 (10th Overall)

Zack Ostapchuk - 2018 (12th Overall)

Justin Sourdif - 2017 (3rd Overall)

Bowen Byram - 2016 (3rd Overall)

Trent Miner - 2016 (20th Overall)

Per the WHL's announcement today: The Spokane Chiefs will select first overall in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft following the completion of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft Lottery.

The 2021 WHL Prospects Draft is scheduled for Thursday, December 9, 2021.

All 22 WHL Clubs participated in the four-phase lottery, unique for the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. The lottery proceedings determined the order of selection for the first round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, with inverse order of standing from the 2020-21 WHL Regular Season determining the order of selection for the second round and all subsequent rounds.
