
WhiteWings take another win over Roadrunners

The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings kept their winning ways against the Edinburg Roadrunners Tuesday night, taking an 8-5 decision at Harlingen Field.
The win puts the WhiteWings at 4-1 over the Roadrunners in this early part of the season.
The Roadies stayed with the local club for the first part of the game and held a lead of 3-2 and and the clubs were deadlocked at 5-5 in the fifth inning.
But the bats by the Wings put them up by 7-5 in the sixth inning and 8-5 in the eighth.
Two new WhiteWings, left fielder Rudy Yan and center fielder Jordan Price were impressive in the early innings. Each was 2-2 in their first two times at bat, that included a double by Price.
The WhiteWings had a total of 15 hits to nine by the Roadrunners.
Fidel Hernandez went 3--for-4 for the WhiteWings, Bryan Marquez was also 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and Miguel Alfonso was 2-for-3.
The Roadrunners were not without their big sticks. Wilmer Pino went 3-for-5, with a pair of two-baggers and Derek Perren was 2-for-4.
The WhiteWings used four pitchers in taking the win.
The two clubs play game two of the four-game series on Wednesday, at Harlingen Field. Gametime is 7:05 p.m.
