Thunder Walkoff in Home Opener

Edinburg, Texas - The McAllen Thunder used a three-run rally in the eighth and ninth inning to defeat the Abilene Prairie Dogs by the score of 6-5 Tuesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

With the McAllen Thunder trailing by two, Tomaszewski came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Brian Nichols.

Tomaszewski was hot from the plate for the McAllen Thunder. Tomaszewski went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run.

A walk-off single by Gianison Rosa gave the McAllen Thunder the win.

It was a good day at the plate for the McAllen Thunder's Rosa. Rosa went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Nick Mahin racked up two RBIs on three hits for the McAllen Thunder. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

Chad Robinson recorded his first win of the year for the McAllen Thunder. Robinson struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Todd Weldon (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The Thunder will continue their four game series at home versus the Abilene Prairie Dogs at Edinburg Baseball Stadium on Wednesday night. Abilene will send left-hander Bryan Smith (1-0) taking on Thunder right-hander Quinn Bright (0-2) with the first pitch scheduled at 7:05 p.m.
