Harlingen - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Mark Ramos.
A 2009 graduate of Augustana College in Illinois, the East Moline native pitched in one game for the Vikings, allowing five runs on four hits and one walk in one-third of an inning. He played primarily as an infielder, earning third team all-region honors at third base, despite playing primarily at shortstop.
As a senior, Ramos hit .378 with four home runs, seven doubles, five triples and 41 RBI in 34 games. He set a school record with 13-career triples.
