HARLINGEN - The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings of the North American League made four roster moves today adding outfielder Tim Rotola (6-1, 175) and pitcher Danny Rondon (6-0, 161) while placing outfielder Welington Doteland second basemen Wimer Pino on the temporarily inactive list.
Rotola has played 39 games in independent ball for both Coastal of the Continental League and St. George of the Golden League. Rotola played collegiately at Liberty University.
Rondon has been pitching professionally since 2006 including time in the Minnesota Twins organization at the rookie and 'A' level. Rondon also hurled for the Edinburg Roadrunners (5-1, 3.90 ERA) during the 2009 season. The WhiteWings and Roadrunners play game two of this four-game series tonight on Fan Fly-Away Friday, presented by Allegiant Air and McAllen International Airport at 7:05 p.m. One lucky fan will win two round-trip tickets on Allegiant Air. Right-hander Eric Blackwell (1-0, 0.00) is expected to face right-hander Scott Wingo (1-0, 1.29). Gates open at 6:05.
