Harlingen, TX - The first half champion Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings acquired infielder John Beal from the San Angelo Colts today for a Player to be Named Later.
Beal will officially be added to the roster after tonight's games are complete and meet up with the team in Laredo, where the Colts are currently playing.
Beal hit .230 (46-200) in 55 games for the Colts, with eight doubles, one triple, 11 RBI and 34 runs scored. The right-handed hitter has shown off good speed, stealing 19 bases in 21 attempts.
