Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have received outfielder Micker Adolfo, the organization's No. 8 prospect according to MLB.com, from Extended Spring Training. Adolfo, 19, fills the roster spot opened when shortstop Johan Cruz was placed on the Disabled List (retroactive to April 13) on Friday.
The White Sox signed Adolfo on July 2, 2013, when he was rated the No. 2 International Prospect by MLB.com. He made his professional debut in 2014 with the Arizona League White Sox, finishing fifth in the league in home runs (5) while leading the AZL White Sox in doubles (10) and total bases (68). In 2015, Adolfo hit .253 (21-83) in 22 games before his season was cut short in early August due to injury. He has not yet played in 2016.
Kannapolis takes the field at 6:00 p.m. today in Hickory for Game 3 of a 4-game series at L.P. Frans Stadium against the Crawdads. The Intimidators return home on Thursday, April 21, for a 4-game home stand against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
