Wheeling Outlasts Bullies 2-1 In A Shootout

Wheeling, WV – Kenny Corupe tallied the game-winning goal in the fourth round of the shootout to lead the Wheeling Nailers to a 2-1 win over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies before 2718 at WesBanco Arena in ECHL action on Sunday.

After a scoreless first period, Wheeling's James Laux gave the Nailers a 1-0 lead in the second when his slap shot from the high slot beat Bullies goaltender Adam Munro at 5:49 on the power play. The Bullies would tally the equalizer when on a delayed penalty against Luke Curtin and Wheeling goaltender Danny Sabourin off the ice, defenseman Cliff Loya knocked the puck into his own net at 14:15 of the third period to tie the score at 1-1 and send the game to overtime and the eventual shootout.

Atlantic City begins a five-game road trip on Friday at Carver Arena in Peoria against the Peoria Rivermen. Catch all the action beginning with "Bullies Countdown" at 8:10PM on ESPN Radio 1450AM and the Surfer Network.
