Idaho Steelheads News Release
FRESNO, California - The Idaho Steelheads dropped its first game of the season to the Fresno Falcons Saturday night at the Save Mart Center before 8,553 fans. Simon Lajeunesse stopped all 37 Idaho shots and Dan Tessier scored twice as Fresno won its first game of the season.
Colin Zulianello got his first start in net for the Steelheads and stopped 28 of the 32 Falcons shots he faced. Idaho was 0-for-4 on the power play, while Fresno converted 1 of its five-man advantages.
"Give Fresno credit. They outplayed us and deserved to win," Steelheads Head Coach John Olver said. "We didn't play well enough to win, but we did not play poorly. This was not a 4-0 game."
The two teams face off for the final game of the three-game series tomorrow (Sunday) at 6:00 p.m. MST. Britt Talbert, Voice of the Steelheads, can be heard calling all the action live by linking to ESPN 1350 KTIK through www.idahosteelheads.com.
