FRESNO, California - The Idaho Steelheads beat the Fresno Falcons 2-1 in a shootout Halloween night in front of 2,775 fans at the Save Mart Center. Bobby Russell tallied the winning goal for Idaho, after each team had scored one apiece in the shootout. Idaho won two of the three games during the weekend series.

Steelheads Head Coach John Olver said after the game, "We played reasonably well. When you play the same team three times, by the third game, you're playing at the same level. We seemed to play to their level, speed. It was a close-checking game."

The two goals scored during regulation play both came on the power play. Fresno's Sean Sutter scored at 11:11 of the first period, and Idaho's David Morisset tallied at 5:39 of the second.

Both teams skated to scoreless third and overtime periods. Former Steelhead David Brisson scored the lone goal for Fresno in the shootout. Warren Peters, shooting 4th for Idaho, scored on the backhand through Falcon goaltender Brett Jaeger's five-hole. Bobby Russell, Idaho's last shooter, faked the backhand through the 5-hole, and then lifted the puck and went top-shelf. Fresno's final shooter, Derek Krestanovich, moved in on Frank Doyle, who poke-checked the puck away to end the threat.

The win improves Idaho's record to 4-1, and Doyle improves to a perfect 4-0 in net.
