Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba - For the third consecutive season the Brandon Wheat Kings plan to offer the most attractive Season Ticket pricing in all of Canada.
The Wheat Kings, who finished second in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Division this past season with a record of 42-24-3-3, unveiled their 2008-09 Season Ticket and Regular Gate Admission prices Wednesday during a news conference at the Keystone Centre.
While Gate Admission prices will remain unchanged this winter, Season ticket prices will see a modest increase.
2008-09 SEASON TICKET PRICES: 2008-09 GATE ADMISSION PRICES:
Adults (19 and Older) $299 Adults (31-60) $15
Youth (18 and Under) $149 Seniors (60 plus) & nbsp; $12
Gen X (19-30) &n bsp; $12
Youth (Ages 13-18) &nb sp; $10
Children (12 and Under) &nbs p; $ 6
Since introducing their new Season Ticket pricing in 2006, the Wheat Kings have seen their season ticket base grow from 1,500 to over 2,700. By keeping their season ticket prices far below the current market value in the WHL, the club hopes to reach its off-season goal of selling 3,000 season tickets.
$299 equates to an average ticket price of $8.30 per game, which is less than half the regular admission price.
"This years pricing remains consistent with our strategy adopted two years ago," says Brandon coach and general manager Kelly McCrimmon. "Our fans will continue to receive great value for the lowest prices in major junior hockey. We have continued to price our product this way in an effort to increase our season ticket base, something we feel is critical to the success of our hockey club."
Season ticket holders wanting to guarantee their seat for the 2008-09 campaign will need to reserve and pay for their seats by June 20th, 2008.
The Wheat Kings, who could return as many as nineteen players from this year's club, sold a franchise high 2,752 Season Tickets last season - up from 2,650 in 2006-07.
During the past two seasons, Brandon has averaged over 4,100 fans per home game, attracting close to 150,000 fans during its 36 regular season games.
