
Eberle and Teubert Bring Home The Gold

KAZAN, Russia -Team Canada won the 2008 IIHF World Under-18 Championship Wednesday morning as they defeated team Russia 8-0. It was the first time since 2003 that team Canada has captured the Gold Medal. Two members of the Regina Pats were apart of Team Canada as Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert were both big parts of Team Canada's success.
Jordan Eberle (5'11",175 Ibs) who was an assistant captain for team Canada, played in 7 tournament games and potted 4 goals and added 6 assists for 10 points. Eberle was the Pats leading scorer this past season and finished 15th in the WHL in scoring. Eberle also took part in the CHL Top Prospects Game as well as the ADT Canada/ Russia Challenge earlier this season. This was Eberle's second stint suiting up for Team Canada, as he suited up for the Under - 18 Team that played in the Czech Republic in August 2007.
Colten Teubert (6'4",185 Ibs) the native of White Rock, BC, also played in his 2nd full season with the Pats this year. The 17-year old defencemen played in 7 games for team Canada, where he recorded 1 assist to go along with 30 penalty minutes and a +8 rating . The rugged rear guard also took part in the CHL Top Prospects Game as well as the ADT Canada/ Russia Challenge earlier this season. Teubert, who was the 1st overall pick in 2005WHL Bantam Draft, also teamed up with Eberle to take part in the Under - 18 Tournament in the Czech Republic, this past August.
Team Canada was made up seven WHL players, as well as nine from the OHL and six from the OMJHL.
