What's New in 2014 for the Stockton Ports

STOCKTON, Calif. - With the Stockton Ports' first home game approaching on Thursday, April 10th, the Ports are giving a preview of additions to Banner Island Ballpark.

New for Season Ticket Holders and Groups: Starting in 2014, the Ports will be opening the Season Ticket Holder gates early and will be as follows: Sundays, 12:45 (April-June) and 4:45 (July and August); Mondays, 5:45pm; Tuesdays, 5:45pm; Wednesdays, 5:45pm; Thursdays, 5:45pm; Fridays, 5:45pm; Saturdays, 5:30pm. On May 15th and May 19th, Season Ticket Holder gates will be open at 9:45am for the 11:05am start time. The early gates will be available for Full and Half-Season Ticket Holders.

Groups visiting the Jackson Rancheria Back Porch this year will have the opportunity to order personalized commemorative t-shirts. T-shirts are available for $10 and can be ordered through the group sales department in advance at 209-644-1900.

Fans will notice new signage in the club area, now the Premier Staffing Stadium Club. Club season tickets are available by calling the Ports' Front Office at 209-644-1900.

Around the Ballpark and Game Presentation: This year, the Ports have teamed up with Susan G. Komen of Sacramento Valley to paint two seats pink at Banner Island Ballpark pink. Our local affiliate of Susan G. Komen will have the exclusive rights to the seats and will be using the tickets to honor cancer survivors and to thank volunteers, donors, and race participants. The non-profit organization will also be promoting their tickets through Susan G. Komen of Sacramento Valley's official website, e-newsletters, and will be holding social media giveaways on their official Facebook page. Ports fans can see the pink seats at the top of Section 107.

Ryan Christenson will lead the team in his first year in Stockton, after helping the Single-A Snappers claim the first-half division championship and finishing with a record of 77-62.

The Ports will have a new on-field Master of Ceremonies, Matt Loscavio, who was a member of last year's promotional team. Matt has been an on-camera correspondent for the West Coast Conference and has experience doing play-by-play commentating.

Fan Interaction and Promotions: On Saturday, April 12th, the Ports will host a free FanFest from 10:00am to 12:00pm, complete with the Anchor Fund's Pancakes with the Ports. During the FanFest, the Anchor Fund will be holding its annual Pancakes with the Ports breakfast. For the breakfast served during the FanFest, tickets for the general public will be available for $5.00 starting at 9:30am on April 12th when gates open. Season Ticket Holders may purchase a breakfast for a discounted price of $3.00. Full and Half-Season Ticket Holders have the opportunity to take batting practice on the field and can RSVP to the Ports Front Office at 209-644-1900.

Fans will notice a few additions to the Ports promotional schedule in 2014, The Ports will host fourteen fireworks shows, a record number at Banner Island Ballpark and will have their first Jackie Robinson Night on Saturday, April 12th, complete with a player jersey auction, memorabilia raffle, and post-game fireworks. Also, celebrity appearances will include Dennis Haskins on April 25th (Saved by the Bell) and Kevin Mitchell on June 20th.

ScholarShare and the Ports are partnering to bring fans the ScholarShare Family Pack Tuesdays, which includes four Field Box tickets, four tacos, and four sodas for $40. The Family Pack may be purchased online at stocktonports.com and at the Stockton Ports Box Office.

New Merchandise: In the Ports' Team Store, fans can find some great items by Nike, including a Dri-Fit Game Top. There is also new children's apparel, featuring Running Gus, and a new selection of sweatshirts, cold-weather gear, and a variety of ladies' apparel. The Team Store is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and during games.

Culinary Options: Fans will see some new food options in the ballpark, particularly at the new Centerfield Brews & Grill, whose gourmet menu includes barbequed tri-tip, grilled chicken, and pulled pork sandwiches, as well as half-pound and bratwurst burgers. The Grill will also carry a variety of beers and Woodbridge wine. A new Chicken Caesar Salad and Asian Chicken Wrap will be available down the first base line, while Frapples (fried apples) and Fried Tomatoes will be available at the Asparagus Cart.

Technology Upgrades: This season, the Ports and MiLB are excited to bring Ports fans the In the Park mobile app. Fans will be able to check promotional information and game entertainment schedule, in addition to being able to access all of the Ports' social media sites. The free app is currently available for both iPhone and Android.

Another new mobile app that will be available to Ports fans this season is MiLB First Pitch. The app allows fans to view up-to-date statistics and live game information, in addition to the team's latest news updates. The app is free and is available for both iPhone and Android.

The Ports also have an updated mobile version of the Official Stockton Ports Website, which fans can save to their phone's homepages as a bookmarked page. Fans can access the team's schedule, game highlights, videos, and more at stocktonports.com.

Opening day is April 10th, 2014 vs. the Visalia Rawhide starting at 7:15pm. Gates will open at 5:35pm, and Season Ticket Holder gates will open at 5:15pm. Individual tickets are now on sale at stocktonports.com and the Stockton Ports Box Office is now open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Season tickets, group tickets, and mini-plans are available by contacting the Ports' front office at (209) 644-1900.
