
Westmoreland Wins CPL Co-Pitcher of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Coastal Plain League announced Tuesday that Columbia Blowfish starting pitcher Adam Westmoreland won Co-Pitcher of the Week for week eight of the season (July 19-July 25).
Westmoreland is the first pitcher and third player for the Blowfish to earn 'Player of the Week' honors in the CPL, joining Brison Celek and Zach Smith.
Westmoreland, a sophomore from the University of South Carolina, pitched seven shutout innings against the Morehead City Marlins on July 22nd. The 6-5, 270-pound left-handed pitcher gave up only five hits, walked no one, and struck out eight batters.
Overall this season, Westmoreland is 1-1 with 4.67 ERA in three starts for the Blowfish.
