
Westchester Knicks Blow Away BayHawks in Win

ERIE - The Westchester Knicks (25-19), the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, took down the Erie BayHawks (11-32) on the road tonight, the final score 113-95.
The teams traded shots to start the game before Westchester tore off on a 12-0 run. The BayHawks gave up eight points in six turnovers in the first quarter, shooting just 29 percent. Despite outrebounding the Knicks 20-12, Erie trailed by seven after the first twelve minutes.
Westchester guard Jimmer Fredette went off for 14 points in the second quarter to give the Knicks as much as a 14-point lead over the BayHawks. Erie's Aaron Harrison put up 10 of his own, including a buzzer-beating three, but the Knicks held on to a 57-46 lead after the first half.
The Knicks continued their rampage, ganging up a 22-point lead over Erie to start and ultimately finish the second half. Still shooting under 30 percent, the BayHawks went 0-for-5 from beyond the arc and had just one assist as a team in the third. Westchester headed into the final quarter with a very comfortable lead.
Westchester continued their control of the game, hitting a 30-point lead over Erie early in the fourth. The BayHawks staged a comeback late in the quarter with a 10-2 run, but the damage was too far gone as the Knicks ran away with a 113-95 win.
Jimmer Fredette and Jordon Crawford finished with 26 points each: Fredette with eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals; Crawford with four assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Ra'Shad James was right behind them with 25 points, also contributing three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Keith Appling paced the BayHawks with a game-high 32 points, adding five rebounds and two steals. Aaron Harrison supplied 20 points off the bench, with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals. Nnanna Egwu finished the night with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Alex Davis had one with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Westchester Knicks return home for a Thursday night match-up against the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors' affiliate, on March 24 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on MSG2 and on the NBA Development League's YouTube channel.
Thursday's game, presented by the Pepe Auto Group, will highlight and benefit My Sisters', a White Plains based organization that provides education, awareness, and legal services to those suffering from or at risk of domestic violence. The team will be wearing special purple jerseys, five of which will be auctioned off during the game.
