WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell 122-109 to the Delaware Blue Coats, Tuesday evening at Westchester County Center.
The Knicks (12-8) shot 52.5-percent from the field and 44.4-percent from deep in the first quarter. Tyler Hall caught fire early going 3-for-3 from the perimeter to lead Westchester with nine in the period. Similar momentum carried them in the second quarter, where Hall also led the Knicks with two three-pointers on perfect shooting. However, just two points separated the clubs at the break in part to Delaware clicking on the outside too (5-for-12 from distance). Knicks led 32-30 after 24 minutes.
In the third quarter, Delaware (12-8) continued to connect from far outscoring the Knicks 15 to 10 points on strictly downtown shooting prowess and containing the hosts to just 21.1-percent from the field. The Blue Coats also benefitted 14 points off of eight Knicks' turnovers while the Knicks failed to convert on Delaware's three miscues. Delaware outscored Westchester 31-18 in the frame and led by five prior to the fourth.
In the final quarter, the Blue Coats went up by as many as 16 points. Without converting at opportunities at the stripe and unable to come up with stops in waning time, Delaware would escape with the 13-point victory.
Hall bested his 20-point career performance from a game ago with 22 tonight. His six three pointers made on the evening is also a personal best. Lamar Peters led the Knicks with 23 points and 11 assists for his double-double. Kenny Wooten raised for seven blocks, one short of his career superlative.
For the visitors, Marial Shayok sank five triples on 50-percent for a team-leading 25 points. Jared Brownridge scored 20 points off the bench.
Next, the Knicks have a back-to-back on the horizon at the Lakeland Magic beginning Friday, January 10.
