West Virginia Black Bears News Release
(July 10, 2016)- The West Virginia Black Bears lost game three to the Tri-City ValleyCats by a 5-3 final. The Black Bears bats went cold this evening as they had a combined 6 hits in 32 at bats.
The Black Bears took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a line drive to left by 3B Jordan George. Starting pitcher for the Black Bears, P Danny Beddes struggled in the top of the fourth, giving up four runs to give the ValleyCats a 4-1 lead. C Chris Harvey and CF Clark Eagan fought back for the Bears in the bottom of the fourth with a double and triple, bringing in two runs to score. The ValleyCats would bring in one more run in the top of the fifth to make it a 5-3 ballgame. The Black Bears tried to rally back in the ninth but could not ending the game with a 5-3 final.
C Chris Harvey threw out two base runners on two steal attempts.
